As an auditor, Piumi has engaged in planning, execution and reporting of audits in multiple industries. Her industry exposure includes Local and International Trading, Diversified Conglomerates, Consumer and Industrial Products, Hotels and Manufacturing Sector, Healthcare, Energy Sector and Wholesale & Retail with proficiency in systems like QuickBooks, SAP, and Microsoft Office packages.
As an accountant, tax consultant as well as a company secretary, her expertise spans providing comprehensive bookkeeping and company secretary services, preparation of annual statutory accounts, tax preparation and tax consultation.
Piumi began her career as an Audit Trainee at Ernst & Young. Following her 2+ years of audit training, she moved to Galle branch – Ernst & Young as an Audit Supervisor. The experience of the firm has provided her with an in-depth view of the key business processes, risk management procedures, accounting and internal control systems, corporate governance and regulatory as well as accounting policies and framework for various business sectors.
With the extensive knowledge and experience in auditing and accounting standards, she moved to the commercial sector as an Accountant. She has rendered her expertise service to number of companies by overseeing accounting function and staff.
Piumi's professional achievements include an Associate Membership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and she is in the Advisory Level (final level) of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Sri Lanka. Additionally, she holds a B.Sc. in Accounting (Special) degree from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, securing a Second Class Upper Division. She also earned the Registered Secretary status from the Department of the Registrar of Companies of Sri Lanka.
Currently, she serves as Managing Director for P M Natives Accounting & Secretarial Services (Pvt) Ltd and acts as a Company Secretary for number of companies.
